Singapore, 30 July 2018 – In the lead up to the first anniversary of the Kohler Experience Center (KEC), KOHLER, a global leader in the manufacture of kitchen and bath products, organized its first-ever Charity Art Jamming session last weekend (Saturday, 28 July 2018) at Goodman Arts Centre.
Reflecting Kohler’s commitment in setting new standards in design, craftmanship and innovation, the theme of this year’s Art Jamming session was centred around ‘Connectivity’. Professional architects and designers from across the country were invited to create masterpieces that will be sold exclusively to partners in the real estate industry, in an effort to support the arts and raise funds for Very Special Arts (VSA) Singapore, the official Charity Partner of Kohler.
VSA Singapore is a charity organization that provides opportunities for the special needs community to be involved in the arts. Through art programs, workshops, competitions and art exhibitions, VSA Singapore aims to integrate individuals with disabilities into society and assist them in obtaining financial independence through the arts and arts creation.
In support of the VSA Singapore’s cause, two artists from VSA Singapore joined the Art Jamming session over the weekend, alongside participating architects and designers. A total of eight art pieces were created, featuring innovative designs with a story behind each and every masterpiece. Prices start from S$3,000 onwards for each art piece.
Overall, all proceeds from the Charity Art Jamming Session will be used to support the special needs beneficiaries from VSA through the following initiatives:
• Weekly visual art programs that are organized by VSA Singapore for the beneficiaries will be fully funded by Kohler.
• These programs will last for a period of one year and will cost between S$1,500 to S$1,700 per year per beneficiary. This includes the cost of facilities, trainers and equipment, as well as teaching materials.
• Beneficiaries will be able to equip themselves with useful art skills such as learning the basics of drawing, color and composition, discovering the different mediums, and more.
The KEC will be celebrating its first anniversary on 16 August 2018, where the masterpieces will be showcased to distinguished guests from the property and hospitality industry.
